Alexander Povetkin

WBO wants Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin fight they are preferring Povetkin over Wilder in his next fight. Povetkin nick name is Sasha he is a Russian professional boxer known as “Russian White lion”. Povetkin had the title of heavyweight WBA from 2011 to 2013 and also a gold medal in super heavyweight division at the 2004 Olympics,2003 Olympics and consecutive gold at the 2002 and 2004 European Championships.

Povetkin Amateur career

From the start Povetkin made his name kickboxing by winning World Junior championship in 1997 and which motivated him to win World title in 1999 and European professional kickboxing title in 2000. In fact At the age of 21 his first major achievement was winning boxing tournament at the Russian Championships in 2000. Therefore the amazing begging of his career made him win many more gold medal in European championships.
